Corrective maintenance is carried out after a fault is detected. It aims to restore your crane to a condition in which it can perform its intended function. Timely repair of known faults reduces the likelihood of emergency breakdowns and is often mandated by regulation.
Retrofits are a relatively easy and economical way to add current features and technologies to your existing overhead crane. Common retrofits include hoist and component replacements, variable speed control, radio remote control and LED lighting. Compared to modernisations, retrofits typically require much less planning and downtime.
Correcting known faults is good for safety and makes economic sense. Component faults identified during inspections and preventive maintenance are documented and corrective actions are discussed with you. We will coordinate crane and hoist repairs around your production schedule in order to minimise downtime.

Conductor systems: Konecranes offers conductor systems, including festoons, energy chain and conductor bar systems to improve safety and reduce operating costs.

Sway Control is designed to automatically limit load swing by controlling the bridge and trolley acceleration and deceleration rates.
Shock Load Prevention allows for smooth load control. If an attempt is made to pick up a load too abruptly, hoisting speed is automatically and immediately adjusted.
Protected Areas are no-go areas, which the crane operator cannot override or adjust.
Traditional metal-halide or halogen lights have a short service life and can suffer damage due to vibrations, resulting in increased costs and less efficient operations. An LED Lighting Retrofit will provide you with lights that have a much longer service life and are far less prone to damage from vibration.
Traditional lighting can account for 50 to 90 per cent of the electricity used by a crane. Lighting is, therefore, a major cost in all crane operations. LED lights provide the same amount of lighting to the working area as standard lights, yet they consume little more than one third of the energy.
